Cristo Rey Atlanta Board Member, Fr. Konzen, S.M., appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Atlanta
  Posted: 2/5/2018

On February 5, Pope Francis has once again demonstrated his great love for this local Church by assigning The Reverend Joel M. Konzen, S.M., as an Auxiliary Bishop. We are deeply grateful to His Holiness for this appointment of such an excellent priest, who is well known and highly respected by the people of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Bishop-Elect Konzen has spent nearly two decades in pastoral service to this Archdiocese, most of it in caring for and educating students at Marist School.  He has been an effective and generous administrator and advisor to the educational ministry of thousands of young people and their parents at Marist, Notre Dame Academy, and most recently at Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School.

Bishop-Elect Konzen will join Bishop Bernard E. Shlesinger and Archbishop Gregory in caring for this wonderful Catholic community of the sixty-nine counties of North and Central Georgia.

We are looking forward to his Episcopal Ordination on Easter Tuesday, April 3rd.
