Dear Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School Families,

We pray you and those you love and care for are well. 

We have come to the point where we do not believe we can safely deliver instruction in our school building and this is disappointing on many levels.  Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School will begin the 2020-21 school year with virtual instruction for the first academic quarter. 

Please note the following information for the coming school year:

1. Freshman Academy will begin on Monday, August 10, 2020.

2. The first day of virtual school will be Monday, August 17, 2020.

3. We are going to offer only virtual learning through the first academic quarter (ending Friday, October 9), and we will reassess the situation to determine if we maintain virtual learning, or switch to a hybrid model as the quarter progresses.

4. As Cristo Rey is built around the Corporate Work Study Program, this adds complexity to the virtual option, so we have pushed back the start of CWS until Tuesday, October 13.   After October 13, students will have a CWSP placement and will begin work.  

Depending on the situation in October, CWSP may follow one of three plans:

a. Students work in their CWS office on their scheduled workday.

b. For those students attending school through the hybrid model, they will report to school on their workday.  Under supervision and guidance of CWS staff, students will work for their company remotely from school.

c. If we remain in a situation where the need for a 100% virtual model is still necessary, via communication with CWS staff and company supervisors, students will work remotely from home on their scheduled workday.

CWS staff have been working closely with our corporate partners to ensure that all three plans are feasible and that they continue to provide the same valuable experience for our students.

Starting this school year will require a degree of agility, patience, creativity, and effort that has not been required of us before. Please know that we appreciate your flexibility throughout this process.

Estimadas familias de Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit School,

Oramos por ti y aquellos a quienes amas y cuides estén bien.

Hemos llegado al punto en que no creemos que podamos dar instrucción de manera segura en nuestro edificio escolar y esto es decepcionante en muchos niveles. Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School comenzará el año escolar 2020-21 con instrucción virtual para el primer trimestre académico.

Tenga en cuenta la siguiente información para el próximo año escolar:

1.  Freshman Academy comenzará el lunes 10 de agosto de 2020.

2.  El primer día de clases virtuales será el lunes 17 de agosto de 2020.

3.  Vamos a ofrecer solo aprendizaje virtual durante el primer trimestre académico (que finaliza el Viernes 9 de Octubre), y volveremos a evaluar la situación para determinar si mantenemos el aprendizaje virtual o cambiaremos a un modelo híbrido a medida que avanza el trimestre.

4.  Como Cristo Rey se basa en el Programa de Estudio de Trabajo Corporativo, esto agrega complejidad a la opción virtual, por lo que hemos retrasado el inicio de CWS hasta el martes 13 de octubre. Después del 13 de octubre, los estudiantes tendrán una colocación en CWSP y comenzarán el trabajo.

Dependiendo de la situación en octubre, CWSP puede seguir uno de tres planes:

a.  Los estudiantes trabajan en su oficina de CWS en su día de trabajo programado.

b.  Para aquellos estudiantes que asisten a la escuela a través del modelo híbrido, se reportarán a la escuela en su día de trabajo. Bajo la supervisión y orientación del personal de CWS, los estudiantes trabajarán para su empresa de forma remota desde la escuela.

c.  Si permanecemos en una situación en la que aún es necesaria la necesidad de un modelo 100% virtual, a través de la comunicación con el personal de CWS y los supervisores de la compañía, los estudiantes trabajarán de forma remota desde su hogar en su día de trabajo programado.

El personal de CWS ha estado trabajando en estrecha colaboración con nuestros socios corporativos para garantizar que los tres planes sean factibles y que continúen brindando la misma experiencia valiosa a nuestros estudiantes.

Comenzar este año escolar requerirá un grado de agilidad, paciencia, creatividad y esfuerzo que no se nos había requerido antes. Tenga en cuenta que apreciamos su flexibilidad a lo largo de este proceso.
