Dear Cristo Rey Community,

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are our highest priority. In response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we have decided that we will conduct school via virtual learning online beginning Monday, March 16. All students will do schoolwork from home for seven classes five days a week through Friday, April 3, followed by one week of Spring Break. Students will not report to CWS. At this time, students will report back to school on Tuesday, April 14. We will assess that date as events unfold.

Virtual learning means that every student must log in remotely each day to Unified Classroom and other learning platforms as assigned by teachers (such as ALEKS) to complete daily assignments given by their instructors. Every student will have school five days per week as the Department of Education mandates that if the student is not at work, the student must be doing instruction. Students will receive a grade each day from each class instructor. This grade will also indicate the student’s attendance. Assignments will be due by dates and times determined by the instructor and students are required to adhere to the due dates.  Assignments each day must be submitted no later than 7 pm unless told otherwise by the instructor. All grades that students earn during this virtual learning period will be recorded grades and will factor into their semester grades.

The school building will remain open with administrative staff operating from 9am – 3pm, Monday – Friday. Parents may come in to pay bills. Students may make appointments to meet with teachers and IT support. College counselors will be available by appointment. Therapeutic counselors will be available via a sign up that will be emailed to students. All scheduled sports games are canceled at this time. If your student is in need of meals or social services support, please contact Mr. Luis Perez at

We appreciate your support as we work through this changing situation. We are confident that if we follow this programming, we will protect the well-being of our community as best as possible. We are hopeful that we will be back in the school building mid-April. It is our intention to continue to provide your students with the excellent, college-preparatory education we always have.
